$70k has been breached—how far away is $80k? BTC may have truly “woken up” this time
BTC broke above $70k and rose 8.3% intraday. The biggest highlight of this rebound is not just the price increase, but the clear recovery in market risk appetite.
BTC had undergone an extended period of adjustment, at one point retracing more than half from last year’s high. Although market sentiment remains clearly divided, BTC suddenly rose more than 6% on August 19, breaking above $68k and sending a strong signal of trend recovery.
Now that it has broken above $70k again, the bulls have clearly begun to regain control.
From a trading perspective, $70k is a very important psychological level. Round-number levels often become areas of concentrated capital battles. Once broken and firmly held, the market’s focus will naturally shift from “can it break $70k?” to “where is the next target?”
So, is $80k within reach?
Of course, but the prerequisite is not simply shouting slogans. The market needs to complete three actions: first, $70k cannot be quickly breached to the downside; second, trading volume needs to follow; third, capital inflows must continue.
If these three conditions are gradually met, $70k could shift from resistance to support, after which the market would have reason to challenge the $73k, $75k, and even $80k areas.
Conversely, if the price is driven higher only by short-term sentiment and short covering, without sustained spot-market capital follow-through, a pullback after the surge could also occur. Relevant Glassnode data previously showed that although the BTC rebound has improved significantly, trading volume, capital inflows, and on-chain activity still require further confirmation.
So my view on this move is: bullish on the trend recovery, but not blindly chasing the rally.
After all, BTC is not an ATM, nor will it automatically give you the next green candle for free after rising 8%. Truly mature traders do not get excited simply because they see prices rising; they still know where the risks are after the rise.
If $70k holds successfully, I believe BTC’s subsequent price action is worth continuing to monitor, with particular attention on resistance in the $73k–$78k range.
Whether this move is a “naughty kid suddenly running faster” or the formal launch of a new trend cannot yet be determined.
But at least one thing is certain: BTC has taken back the market spotlight. #BTC升破70000美元日内涨幅8.3%
#BTC surged nearly 8%, making many traders believe the bullish trend was finally back.
