Rayo Vallecano vs Alavés: My Prediction ⚽

I’m expecting Rayo Vallecano to have a slight advantage in this match, especially because they are playing at home. My prediction is Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Alavés.

Rayo lost 2-1 to Sevilla in their opening match, but their performance was not bad and Álvaro García managed to score. Alavés, on the other hand, started the season strongly with a 3-0 win against Getafe. Mariano Díaz was one of the standout players with a goal and two assists.

For Rayo, Álvaro García, Isi Palazón and Jorge de Frutos could be important in attack, while Florian Lejeune will have a key role in defence. For Alavés, Mariano Díaz looks like the biggest threat after his excellent first-match performance.

Rayo also have a good recent head-to-head record against Alavés. I expect a competitive game, but Rayo’s home advantage could make the difference.

My final prediction: Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Alavés.

Got carried away after beating Getafe away? Away games in La Liga are another matter, and Rayo Vallecano have plenty of attacking options, so a home win is a lock in this one.

This feels like it will be an open game, with both sides scoring. A 2-1 scoreline seems quite plausible—it all depends on whether Lehen can shut down Mariano.

Mariano is in red-hot form, but Rayo Vallecano are always tough to beat at home, so the score could be lower—maybe 1-0.

Rayo Vallecano are a force at home for a reason—they’ve got this one in the bag.

Your analysis is sound, but I’m only worried about one thing: Rayo Vallecano’s defense was a bit leaky in the opener, while Alavés’ counterattacks were deadly. We’ve seen plenty of counterattacking setups backfire.

As a longtime La Liga fan, let me be fair: Rayo Vallecano does have a psychological edge over Alavés, and with home advantage too, the 2-1 line is reasonable. I’ll follow your bet.

Support the prediction, but I still feel the script will be a draw: Rayo Vallecano will squander their chances, and Alavés will snatch one.

Alavés’ 3-0 win in the opening round was good, but playing Rayo Vallecano away is really tough. I lean toward thinking your prediction for this match is correct; 2-1 is quite reasonable.
