63% of Americans called Trump and his family profiting from crypto ventures “inappropriate,” according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
That number is worth paying attention to.
Crypto is becoming more connected to politics, but that also means public trust matters more than ever.
The bigger question isn’t just who profits from crypto.
It’s whether the rules, transparency and accountability are strong enough for everyone.
Crypto needs adoption but it also needs trust.

Poll numbers show that the public can see clearly. If crypto always lets politicians’ families eat first, how can the industry expect ordinary people to feel comfortable getting on board?

Actually, people resent not just making money, but that the rules always seem to be retroactively made for certain people. Transparency can’t keep up, and crypto can never wash away its shadows.

I think the core issue is still the accountability mechanism: can we ensure that, regardless of who enters the market, information is disclosed and the rules are consistent? That’s extremely difficult in the current ecosystem.

The Trump family making some money gets blown out of proportion, so there’s no need to apply a double standard. But once politics is involved, don’t blame the public for scrutinizing it under a microscope.

Stirring things up with polls again? Americans also think politicians’ personal ethics are terrible. Crypto just happens to have become the new target; at the end of the day, it’s the same old problem of a trust deficit.

First Review
In the long run, this industry needs a reliable public ledger, not stories endorsed by a few celebrities. Lock the rules in place first, then talk about mass adoption; otherwise, it really will become a casino.
