$ETH ‌ ICO WHALE SELLS $23 MILLION – 10-YEAR HOLDER JOINS STRING OF EARLY INVESTORS TAKING PROFITS

An early Ethereum ICO participant sold $23 million worth of ETH on Thursday – adding to a string of recent moves by long-term holders trimming positions.

The pattern: Earlier this week, a separate ICO-era wallet sold around 15,002 ETH (roughly $31 million) after a decade-long hold, transferring funds to Coinbase while still retaining a sizable balance.

ETH price: Trading near $1,917, up 0.22% today – but remains more than 50% below its August 2025 peak of around $4,900.

The broader context: More than 30 large ETH holders have trimmed positions in recent weeks, according to on-chain analysts. The selling pressure comes as Ethereum staking hits record levels and institutional adoption continues.
