Gate.io Completes Unitree Pre-Market Contract Migration to Official Trading

Gate.io has successfully migrated the Unitree (UNITREE 688836.SH) pre-market perpetual contract to official perpetual contract trading following the company's initial public offering on August 19, 2026 . The official UNITREEUSDT perpetual contract now supports leverage ranging from 1x to 50x for both long and short positions . To celebrate the launch, Gate.io has launched a Unitree contract trading competition running from August 19 to August 28, with a total prize pool of 50,000 USDT . New users completing their first contract trade with at least 5,000 USDT in UNITREE/USDT trading volume can receive 5 USDT, while users who complete 5,000 USDT in daily trading volume can receive up to 35 USDT through a check-in program . Additionally, users with cumulative trading volume exceeding 10,000 USDT can share in a 30,000 USDT prize pool based on trading volume, with individual rewards up to 200 USDT . This migration represents Gate.io's continued expansion of stock-related derivative products, offering traders exposure to traditional equity markets through cryptocurrency trading infrastructure.

The threshold for this promotion is low: new users who complete 5,000 USDT in trading volume will receive 5 USDT, making it suitable for trying out futures trading first.

Unitree is a star company in the robotics sector, and its underlying stock will certainly be highly volatile after listing. Gate has turned it into a perpetual contract with up to 50x leverage, effectively bringing the long-short battle from the stock market into the crypto market. However, I’d like to remind everyone that contracts involve positions, funding rates, and liquidation mechanisms, making them completely different from directly buying spot. If you want to participate in the competition and earn rewards, first calculate the fees and slippage costs carefully—don’t end up losing your principal without even receiving the rewards. Personally, I recommend trying it with only a small amount of capital at most; going all-in with a heavy position can easily cause your mindset to fall apart.

May I ask whether positions in the previous pre-market contracts will be automatically transferred to the official contracts, or do they need to be closed manually?

Let me be practical: The biggest problem with these stock-mirroring contracts is their price source. If pricing is based on A-share closing prices, then the contract price during trading hours is purely futures-driven, and the funding rate will keep pulling it back and forth. Although Gate’s competition prize pool is 50k U, the amount ultimately received by an individual may be only a few dozen to a few hundred U, so it’s unrealistic to expect to get rich from this. It’s better to treat it as a learning tool and observe the differences in sentiment between the stock market and the crypto market, which is more valuable than placing orders blindly.

It is recommended to list more A-share technology stock contracts in the future, such as Cambricon and SMIC—they would definitely be hugely popular.

After reading the first item, the first thought that came to mind was: Who invented 50x?
