SEC UNVEILS 'REG CRYPTO' – $75M RAISE PATH OPENS AS CLARITY ACT STALLS IN SENATE

$BTC
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission just dropped a bombshell proposal called "Regulation Crypto Assets" – creating a formal fundraising framework for crypto projects while the CLARITY Act remains stuck in Congress.

Two exemption tiers:

· Tier 1: Eligible issuers can raise up to $5 million over four years
· Tier 2: Projects can raise up to $75 million in any 12-month period

The game-changer: The proposal includes a conditional "safe harbor" – once a project team completes or permanently ceases its core managerial efforts, the token can become separated from its original investment contract.

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins: "This gives crypto entrepreneurs and market participants clear pathways to raise capital under federal securities laws".

The catch: Broader issues – token classification, SEC/CFTC jurisdiction, trading platforms, and DeFi – still require the CLARITY Act. If CLARITY fails to clear the 60-vote procedural threshold on September 15, the U.S. could enter a fragmented regulatory structure.
