Using a decentralized oracle for traceable settlement data is a design approach worth applauding—at least it’s far more reliable than certain exchanges making all the decisions themselves.

After trying it out, the five-minute cycle moves quickly, and TWAP sampling can also filter out momentary anomalies. It feels like Gate put a lot of thought into the rules this time.

To be honest, these prediction contracts are essentially just small bets for entertainment. Using oracle price feeds as a reference feels at least a bit more reassuring than looking only at candlestick charts, right?

BTC/ETH/SOL/XRP are all supported. The mechanics are simple and straightforward, and the key is that there’s no leverage, so you don’t have to worry about suddenly being wiped out. It’s suitable for entertainment and testing your market instincts.

The lack of leverage and margin does lower the barrier to entry, but five-minute predictions are truly more thrilling than futures contracts. It’s still a worthwhile experience.

Chainlink TWAP settlement can at least prevent malicious liquidations caused by price wicks, which is fairer for retail traders, but short-term price fluctuations still have to be judged for yourself.
