Gate has officially launched its new Event Points System, adding a gamified rewards layer to its Event Market. The first phase went live on August 17, 2026, and users can participate after updating the Gate App to version 8.32 or above.

The new system follows a simple cycle: Trade → Earn Scratch Cards → Win Rewards → Collect Points → Compete on the Weekly Leaderboard. Eligible Event Contract trading can generate scratch cards based on cumulative trading volume, with rewards including USDT, event points, and trading-experience vouchers.

In standard markets, users can receive one scratch card for every 20 USDT of cumulative trading volume. Selected crypto rise/fall markets carrying a 2× badge offer one scratch card per 10 USDT traded. The accumulated event points then count toward the weekly leaderboard.

The competitive element is another important part of the launch. The top 100 users can share the weekly points prize pool according to their rankings, turning trading activity into a leaderboard-based rewards experience. Gate has also introduced event calendars, match indicators, subscriptions, and notifications to make upcoming events easier to track.

This launch reflects a broader trend in the crypto industry: platforms are combining trading, rewards, gamification, and community participation to create more interactive experiences. For Gate, the system could increase engagement around sports, esports, crypto, and other event-based markets.

However, users should remember that rewards do not remove trading risk. Trading volume should not be increased simply to chase points, and participants should understand the terms, potential losses, and risks associated with Event Contracts.
