🧿 Google will give users the option to remove the visible watermark from AI-generated images, videos, and music. The option will be available in Gemini and the Flow video editor, and later in Search.

However, the invisible SynthID label and C2PA metadata will remain. They will still allow users to identify the content as AI-generated.

Google explained the decision as a balance between creative freedom and transparency: a visible label may hinder professional use of the content, but a hidden label will preserve its identification.

The company has also opened the Credentio library for local verification of the origin of AI-generated content.
