#MemoryChipsRally
AI Demand Keeps Memory Stocks in Focus
Memory stocks are back in focus as AI data-center demand continues driving strong interest in HBM, DRAM and NAND. AI accelerators require huge amounts of high-bandwidth memory, while manufacturers are investing heavily to expand advanced-memory capacity.
As of August 13, 2026, Micron (MU) is trading around $956, up roughly 4.9% today, with an intraday range near $906.50–$978.
SK hynix is also showing strong momentum, with its U.S.-listed shares around $136–$137, while Korean-listed SK hynix has gained roughly 5.9%. Samsung Electronics is also trading higher, up around 4.9%.
These moves show how powerful the current memory rally has become, but they also highlight the risk of chasing large green candles.
My trading plan: For MU, I would watch the $900–$910 area as important near-term support. Holding this zone could keep the bullish structure intact, while a decisive breakdown would make me more cautious. On the upside, $978–$1,000 is the next important psychological zone.
For SK hynix, I would watch whether recent momentum holds after the strong move. For Samsung, continued strength across the Korean semiconductor sector would support the broader memory narrative.
The fundamental story remains strong: AI infrastructure spending + HBM demand + tight memory supply + stronger pricing power.
However, memory is cyclical. If manufacturers expand capacity too aggressively or AI infrastructure spending slows, supply-demand conditions could eventually change and pressure margins.
So my view is long-term bullish but selective on entries. I would prefer a confirmed breakout with strong volume or a controlled pullback toward support rather than buying simply because prices are rising.
Current watchlist:
$MU: ~$956
$SKHY: ~$137
Samsung Electronics: ~₩270,000+
AI needs powerful processors, but those processors also need massive amounts of memory. That is why remains one of the most important semiconductor themes to watch in 2026.
