$BTC MINERS DUMP 28,000 BTC AS $74,300 PRODUCTION COST BITES – SHIFT TO AI ACCELERATES

Small-scale miners and publicly traded Bitcoin mining companies are relentlessly selling off assets, keeping the market under pressure as production costs far exceed current prices.

According to Blockware Intelligence data cited by Coindesk, public Bitcoin mining companies held 127,000 BTC at the start of the year. That number has now dropped to just 99,000 BTC – meaning they have sold 28,000 BTC worth approximately $1.78 billion at current prices .

The average cost to produce one Bitcoin is currently $74,300. With BTC trading near $63,400, miners are operating at a loss. To survive, more and more companies are pivoting toward artificial intelligence (AI) operations .

Ironically, this restructuring is improving conditions for miners who remain. The withdrawal of large players has reduced competition, making BTC mining cheaper and increasing rewards for remaining miners by about 18% compared to 10 months ago .
