The Biggest Trading Mistake I Try to Avoid
One of the biggest mistakes I see in crypto trading is entering a position simply because an asset is moving quickly.
A coin suddenly pumps, social media becomes bullish, everyone starts talking about the next 10x, and FOMO takes over. That is usually the moment when discipline becomes most important.
My approach is different.
Before entering a trade, I want to understand why the move is happening and whether the chart actually supports the idea.
First, I look at the broader market. Bitcoin often sets the tone for the rest of the crypto market, so I don't want to ignore BTC's trend when analyzing an altcoin.
Second, I identify important support and resistance zones. These levels help me define where buyers or sellers could become active.
Third, I watch volume and confirmation. A breakout can look exciting, but without convincing participation it can quickly turn into a false breakout.
Finally, I define my risk before entering. If I cannot clearly explain where my trade idea would be invalidated, I probably shouldn't be entering the trade.
The market will always provide another opportunity.
Missing one pump is much better than entering a bad trade because of FOMO.
My Qixi trading lesson: Don't chase the candle. Wait for the setup. 🎯
