#NAS100
NAS100 is entering today’s session at a critical point after the Nasdaq-100 closed the previous session at 29,525.48, down approximately 0.33%. The latest futures indication is around 29,837, suggesting a stronger pre-market tone and renewed demand for technology stocks.
The key question for today is whether this strength can hold once the U.S. cash market opens. A positive futures move is encouraging, but it does not automatically confirm a sustained bullish breakout. The market still needs confirmation through price acceptance, breadth and trading volume.
Key levels
The previous session opened near 29,694.70, reached a high around 29,705.80, and fell as low as 29,427.61 before closing at 29,525.48. That makes the 29,700–29,800 region an important short-term resistance/decision area.
If NAS100 can establish itself above this region with strong participation, attention can shift toward the psychological 30,000 level. A sustained move above 30K would be technically more significant than a brief intraday test.
On the downside, 29,400–29,500 is the immediate area to monitor. A failure to hold this zone could bring the 29,000 area back into focus as a broader support reference.
CPI is today's major catalyst
The biggest macro event today is the U.S. July CPI report. The consensus forecast is for headline CPI to rise 3.4% year over year, compared with 3.5% previously.
For NAS100, inflation matters because it can influence Treasury yields and expectations for Federal Reserve policy.
A softer inflation reading could support technology valuations if markets interpret it as reducing pressure on interest rates.
A hotter-than-expected reading could have the opposite effect. Higher inflation expectations can push yields higher, which can put pressure on growth and technology stocks.
AI remains the second major driver
AI-related earnings are helping support today's pre-market sentiment. Super Micro Computer and CoreWeave reportedly delivered stronger-than-expected results, with their shares gaining sharply in pre-market trading.
This is important for NAS100 because AI infrastructure spending has become a major theme across semiconductors, cloud computing, networking and data-center companies.
However, investors are increasingly looking beyond headline revenue. The market wants evidence that enormous AI capital expenditure will generate sustainable future earnings.
Oil and geopolitical risk
The market is also monitoring developments around the Strait of Hormuz. Recent reports indicate that uncertainty around the situation has contributed to higher oil prices and pressure on equities.
Higher oil prices can complicate the inflation outlook. That creates an important connection between geopolitics, inflation, Treasury yields and NAS100.
Volume and market breadth
Today's move should be judged by more than the index number.
If NAS100 rises while semiconductor, software and mega-cap technology stocks participate broadly, the move would look healthier.
If the index rises mainly because of a few heavyweight stocks while the broader technology sector remains weak, the rally could be less convincing.
Volume will also be important. Strong participation around resistance would provide better confirmation than a low-volume price spike.
Bullish scenario
A constructive scenario would be:
29,700–29,800 reclaimed → strong volume → broader tech participation → 30,000 becomes the next major psychological reference.
The most convincing bullish structure would be sustained acceptance above resistance rather than a temporary move through it.
Bearish scenario
The main risk would be:
Failure around resistance → loss of 29,400–29,500 → increasing selling pressure → 29,000 becomes the next major reference.
A hotter CPI number combined with rising Treasury yields could increase pressure on high-valuation technology stocks.
What matters today?
The NAS100 market is being driven by several forces simultaneously:
Price: Can the index reclaim the upper part of yesterday's range?
CPI: Does inflation come in above or below expectations?
Treasury yields: Do yields rise or fall after the inflation data?
AI earnings: Are companies continuing to demonstrate strong AI-related demand?
Volume: Is today's move supported by genuine market participation?
Breadth: Are most major technology stocks participating?
Geopolitics: Does oil remain a source of inflationary pressure?
Final view
NAS100 is starting today's session with a more constructive pre-market tone, but confirmation is still required. The previous close near 29,525 and the current futures indication near 29,837 show how quickly sentiment can change around major economic data.
The immediate battleground is the 29,700–29,800 region, while 30,000 is the major psychological upside reference. On the downside, 29,400–29,500 is the first area to monitor, with 29,000 as a broader support reference.
Today's CPI release, Treasury yields, AI-sector performance and geopolitical developments could determine whether NAS100 extends its recovery or returns to consolidation.
The key lesson for today's market: don't judge the move by price alone — watch price + volume + yields + CPI + technology breadth together.
