The Max Pain price for the $BTC option experation today is 65.5k.

The volume of options today is not large.

However, calls and puts are in fierce conflict, and if the market closes at the current price, option investors will face maximum losses.

The key is that if it closes at 65.5k, it’s game over—both longs and shorts get wrecked. It would be better to make a move and let one side survive.

Max Pain is here to fleece us again; options traders have it so hard.

At 65.5k, neither bulls nor bears are having an easy time. The low trading volume suggests big money can’t be bothered to make a move, but with calls and puts fighting this fiercely, if the close really gets stuck here, the double-kill scenario is highly likely.

This kind of situation is pretty classic: the max pain point is like the market makers’ bullseye, with retail traders piling in on both the bullish and bearish sides. The closer the closing price gets to max pain, the happier the sellers and the more crushed the buyers. Now it all depends on whether a large order comes in during the final trading session to dump or pump the market and pin the price around 65.5—in that case, basically all the options buyers today will be paying their respects. The low trading volume is another critical detail: the poorer the liquidity, the easier it is to manipulate. I’m only willing to watch from the sidelines, not place a bet.
