Altcoin Strengthens, Solana and Dogecoin Shine
Not only Bitcoin, altcoins are also showing impressive performance. Solana (SOL) surged 14.5% to $145 since early April, driven by new interest in its network, including the Firedancer validator upgrade and the popularity of meme coins like Fartcoin, which rose 21% in 24 hours with a market capitalization of $1.08 billion. Ethereum (ETH) also recorded an increase of nearly 8% to $1,703, while Dogecoin (DOGE) rose 9% to $0.172, becoming one of the biggest winners among the top 10 crypto assets. XRP and Chainlink (LINK) also experienced an increase of over 3%, adding optimism to the altcoin market.
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has now grown by 6% to $2.95 trillion, with Bitcoin still dominating 60% of the market share. Total liquidations of short positions reached $255 million from $347 million in the last 24 hours, indicating strong pressure from buyers pushing prices higher.
