✔️Cryptocurrencies inspired by internet memes, memecoins are currently experiencing a delicate period on the market. These assets have seen a significant decline over the past 24 hours. A performance that some crypto analysts attribute to recent bitcoin price movements.
✔️The market capitalization of memecoins saw a dramatic decline, with notable drops of 12% and 19% for tokens on the Solana and Base networks, respectively. On the Solana network, the leading memecoin, Dogwifhat, saw its value drop 9% in one day, resulting in a loss of $3.9 billion.
✔️Despite this decline, Dogwifhat maintains a significant share of the memecoin market on Solana, with $484 million in open stakes spread across eight crypto exchanges. More than $2.7 million in leveraged positions were liquidated in 24 hours, reflecting market volatility.
