Services at three Malaysian banks experienced disruptions on the same day.

Abstract generation in progress

ME News, November 8 (UTC+8) — Malaysia’s National Savings Bank (BSN), Bank Islam, and Bank Rakyat each experienced service issues on November 6, affecting interbank withdrawals, mobile apps, and website access. The incidents raised concerns about whether the banking systems had been targeted by cyberattacks.

Specifically, BSN customers had difficulty making interbank withdrawals through MEPS due to high ATM transaction volumes; Bank Islam’s mobile app had compatibility issues with Android 17; and Bank Rakyat’s website was temporarily inaccessible. There is currently no evidence that any of the three banks were targeted by cyberattacks or that the incidents were related. (Source: PANews)
