Bitcoin Slips Below $64K Ahead of the Fed—Is This Just Pre-FOMC Caution?
Bitcoin briefly fell below $64,000 as traders reduced risk before the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision. Rather than panic selling, the current weakness appears driven by investors waiting for clarity on monetary policy.
🚀 What's Driving the Pullback?
📉 BTC dropped around 2.5%, briefly trading near $63.3K.
💰 Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded another day of net outflows, reflecting cautious institutional positioning before the Fed announcement.
📊 On the technical side, Bitcoin lost its short-term ascending trendline and is trading below the 20-day moving average, while the RSI remains near neutral, suggesting momentum is weakening but not yet oversold.
🏛️ All Eyes on the Fed
Markets largely expect the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates unchanged, but investors remain focused on the policy statement and Chair Kevin Warsh's guidance.
A hawkish tone could strengthen the U.S. dollar and pressure risk assets, while a more balanced message could help Bitcoin recover toward key resistance levels.
📈 Key Levels to Watch
🟢 Resistance: $64.5K – $65.2K
🔴 Support: $62.5K, followed by $61.8K
A move above resistance could restore short-term bullish momentum, while losing support may invite another wave of volatility.
💡 My Insight
I see this decline as pre-FOMC positioning rather than a change in Bitcoin's long-term trend. It's common for traders to reduce leverage before major macro events when policy expectations remain uncertain.
Personally, I'll stay cautious until the Fed announcement and press conference are over. Short-term volatility can move the market in either direction, but my long-term strategy doesn't change. I'll continue DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) into Bitcoin, regardless of whether BTC initially pumps or dumps after the FOMC. For me, consistency is more important than trying to perfectly time the market.
