A new type of job-scam targeting Web3 professionals has been discovered, with malware disguised as an AI interview tool

Mars Finance reports that SlowMist said it recently discovered a recruitment scam targeting Web3 professionals. The attackers impersonate recruiters and lure victims into installing an AI meeting software called “Relay,” which is actually a malicious program designed to steal information. The malware targets both macOS and Windows users and can steal sensitive data including browser credentials, information related to crypto wallets, Keychain data, Telegram sessions, and more. SlowMist has completed sample analysis and disclosed how the attack chain works. SlowMist reminds people to be cautious when taking part in online interviews or recruitment processes: avoid installing unfamiliar software, prevent running unverified applications, and watch for unusual installation requests or system password prompts.
