Ibrahim Azizi, the chair of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Islamic Parliament, warned Ukraine on the 27th that its attacks on Iran would have consequences. Azizi said on social media that any attack on Iran would come at a price. The United States and Israel have already realized this, and Ukraine will soon realize that “Iran will not respond with indifference to an attack.”

On the 25th, Ukraine’s military attacked an Iranian merchant vessel in the Caspian Sea. Iran strongly condemned it and summoned the chargé d’affaires ad interim of Ukraine in Iran. On the 26th, Iran’s Foreign Minister Alaraghzi posted on social media saying that Ukraine’s attack openly violated the UN Charter, was carried out at Israel’s behest, and aimed to drag Europe into the war. He said he had spoken by phone, respectively, with Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and with Russia’s Foreign Minister Lavrov. (Xinhua)
