CZ recently suggested a model for “crypto license paper passports” for the ASEAN region, which is quite interesting.

Put simply, an exchange or project that has a license in a country like Singapore or Vietnam would be able to get approval faster to operate in other countries, without having to redo the application from scratch. The host country still has the right to review and impose additional conditions.
With that in place, businesses can cut compliance costs dramatically and scale extremely quickly. Traders also benefit from lower transaction fees when the market attracts more platforms competing with each other.
The biggest obstacle right now lies in policy. Each ASEAN country regulates in its own way. To standardize, governments must come together to agree on a common supervisory standard.
Without a common framework, companies will just choose the easiest licensing jurisdiction and then expand across the whole region. Do you think this deal becomes reality in a few years?
