Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 29, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg published a public article titled “The AI Future Is for Everyone” in The Wall Street Journal, outlining his vision for the development of superintelligence and arguing that in the future, AI should empower individuals widely rather than be centrally controlled by a small number of institutions.

Zuckerberg said the most critical question today is not whether superintelligence will emerge, but who will be able to access it. He argued that “personal empowerment” should be the foundation for prosperity, “innovation” the core mission of superintelligence, and “checks and balances” the security safeguard—rather than concentrating AI capabilities in the hands of a few institutions.

In response to concerns from some AI industry figures about the risks of superintelligence, Zuckerberg said he does not agree with views such as “AI will replace most jobs” or “only highly centralized power can ensure AI safety.” History has shown that excessive concentration of power often suppresses human potential, while openness and freedom can bring more innovation and prosperity. The greatest value of superintelligence should not be automation, but driving invention and creativity. If superintelligence is controlled by a small number of institutions, it will inevitably exert excessive influence over the economy, science, and politics. By contrast, giving everyone access to a personal superintelligence could open a new stage of comprehensive enhancement of individual capabilities and foster more entrepreneurship and innovation.

On safety governance, Zuckerberg noted that experience in areas such as cybersecurity shows that open ecosystems help improve system security over the long term. On employment, he believes that if AI is used more to empower individuals rather than simply replace labor, the future job opportunities created may exceed the roles that are replaced, and the threshold for starting businesses will be further lowered, with the economic structure expected to tilt more toward small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. Zuckerberg said Meta will continue to advance superintelligence R&D around three principles—personal empowerment, innovation, and checks and balances—and believes these values will help build an AI future that benefits everyone.
