What happened to $1,000 invested in BTC, ETH $SOL in 2022?

The crypto space is famous for its volatility, but the performance gap between the top assets over the last couple of years is staggering. I ran the numbers through the Kryptonal profit simulator tool, and the results highlight a massive divergence in the market.
If you had invested $1,000 on January 1, 2022, here is exactly where you would stand today:

🟠 Bitcoin (BTC)
Current Value: $1,378.05
Return: +37.81% 📈

🔵 Ethereum (ETH)
Current Value: $520.78
Return: -47.92% 📉

🟣 Solana (SOL)
Current Value: $435.04
Return: -56.50% 📉

The Key Takeaway:
While Bitcoin has proven its resilience and ability to recover its value since early 2022, major altcoins like Ethereum and Solana are still experiencing significant drawdowns from that specific entry point. It is a clear reminder of the market's "flight to quality" during macroeconomic shifts Bitcoin continues to act as the primary anchor for the entire sector.

Ethereum has fallen by almost half; fortunately, I bought BTC at the beginning of 2022, so I’ve lost a bit less. I’ll just treat it as tuition, but in the long run it still depends on ecosystem development.

The data says it all: right now, only the big coin can hold up—these altcoins haven’t even managed to touch half of the previous high. This shakeout has been ruthless.

Bitcoin is indeed holding steady, but the drop in Ethereum and Solana has been too brutal. People who entered in 2022 are still stuck in losses now.

Flight to safe assets? To put it plainly, people’s confidence in altcoins hasn’t fully recovered yet, and this time Bitcoin’s safe-haven attribute is truly showing.

If you had gone all-in on SOL back then, you wouldn’t even have a little spare change left now—this market is just so merciless.
