Media report: the mediator believes the US and Iran may be able to restart the memorandum of understanding.

Mars Finance news: On July 28, according to The Times of Israel, an Arab official and another source said that before a Tuesday meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump, mediators believed they were close to reaching a landmark agreement that could restart the memorandum of understanding signed last month between the U.S. and Iran. However, the mediators are still waiting for Trump’s final decision after his meeting with Israeli leadership. Late on Monday, Pakistan, Egypt, and Qatar said they were discussing a proposal aimed at clarifying differences regarding the operations of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran insists that the memorandum gives it some control over the strait, while the U.S. disagrees. The proposal put forward by the mediators is intended to bridge these differences so that the U.S. and Iran can hold talks under the memorandum, whose 60-day term will expire next month. Iran and Oman have approved the mediators’ proposal, and the proposal is now awaiting Trump’s approval. The two sources said the White House has not yet made a decision and will make the final call only after Trump meets with Netanyahu.
