US consumer confidence index fell to 90.8 in July, with households holding a weak view of the labor market

Mars Finance news, according to the app Jintou, the U.S. Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index for July fell from 92.2 (upwardly revised from June) to 90.8, below the forecast of 92.3. Households’ views on the labor market overall remain relatively weak. Dana Peterson, chief economist at the Conference Board, said that in July, consumers’ feedback on factors affecting the economy remained predominantly pessimistic, and mentions of employment and unemployment increased slightly.
