This time, I was able to get results with this short—not by chasing it only after seeing the price fall, but by noticing earlier during the push-up that the support was getting weaker and weaker. The price churned through several rounds at high levels; after a few attempts to surge, it still didn’t truly hold. I was watching that specific detail, so I wasn’t fooled by the apparent show of strength.

From 4.25647 to 0.14167, it wasn’t a smooth ride all the way: there were a few false breakouts at first, followed by a rapid pullback. What hurt the most was that just as I got off the trade on impulse, the market action started to hammer lower. After I confirmed the momentum of the shorts, I recorded the outcome for this position as +1903.51%.

Honestly, what shorting fears most isn’t volatility—it’s still imagining a pullback rally while the price is already at high levels. Since the support can’t be held and sell pressure keeps showing up, you can’t panic just because of a few rebound candles. This time, I basically nailed the timing—and it also reminded me: once you see weak signals, don’t be easily washed out by a dead-cat bounce.
