Canton’s Decentralized App Layer Goes Live With a Massive $1M+ Grant!

The institutional tokenization race is heating up, and the Canton Network is aggressively building out its infrastructure. Today, BitSafe officially launched its highly anticipated decentralized application layer on the privacy-focused Canton Network, supercharged by a massive grant from the Canton Foundation.

The $1 Million Foundation Grant

The Funding: BitSafe’s new infrastructure was backed by a massive development grant from the Canton Foundation Development Fund totaling over 1 million (8,500,000CC).

The Mission: The Canton Network is already being used by giants like Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, and DTCC to tokenize Real-World Assets (RWAs). However, until now, any team trying to build on the network had to create their own threshold custody, governance, and auditing infrastructure from scratch. This grant directly solves that friction.

 Enter the "Decentralization Manager"
Backed by the grant, BitSafe has rolled out the public beta of its Decentralization Manager an open-source, Quantstamp-audited framework that acts as a plug-and-play app layer for the Canton ecosystem.
Instant Infrastructure: Instead of building custody and governance rails from scratch, institutions can now use this framework to instantly launch fully compliant, decentralized financial products.
What It Enables: The framework comes pre-built for issuing native tokens (like stablecoins and RWAs), establishing decentralized multi-signature wallets, and spinning up institutional-grade DEXs, lending protocols, and structured products on Canton.

Privacy Meets Decentralization
Canton’s biggest selling point has always been its "network of networks" architecture, which allows banks to interoperate globally without broadcasting their private transactional data to the public. The Decentralization Manager allows these institutions to maintain that strict privacy while simultaneously distributing control of their applications across multiple independent operators mitigating single-point-of-failure risks.

Canton ($CC ) is quietly building the foundational plumbing for the tokenized TradFi economy. By funding open-source frameworks like BitSafe’s Decentralization Manager, they are dramatically lowering the barrier to entry for institutions. When Wall Street banks decide it's time to build a decentralized exchange or launch an on-chain lending protocol, Canton is ensuring they have the compliant, plug-and-play tools ready to go from day one.

The network that Goldman Sachs and Morgan are both using finally has a ready-made decentralized application layer. Institutions can plug it in directly to issue stablecoins and build a DEX, and privacy still isn’t leaking—this friction has been resolved nicely.
