Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 28, according to official information, Zcash has officially activated the Ironwood NU6.3 network upgrade at mainnet block height 3,428,143, and launched a new shielded pool, Ironwood. This upgrade is intended to address the previously discovered Orchard integrity vulnerability, improve protocol security, and enhance the independent verifiability of ZEC circulating supply integrity.

After the upgrade, the existing Orchard pool has been restricted. If funds want to exit that pool and move into Ironwood, they must first pass through turnstile (a gate mechanism) to ensure that pool-external supply can be independently verified. The official statement says that Ironwood completed formal verification before deployment and underwent an independent security audit, providing stronger guarantees for future protocol security.

For users, users holding Orchard funds need to complete the migration through wallets that support Ironwood. Zodl 3.8.0 has integrated the relevant support, and the existing address structure does not need to be changed.
