I was able to profit from this short because the key wasn’t seeing the drop and then chasing it, but noticing during the earlier spike and retracement that the buy-side support above was weakening more and more. The price repeatedly churned around 0.16207—several times I tried to push higher, but it got smashed back down. The chart had already made the heavy pressure above very clear.
At the time, I was actually pretty hesitant. Continuous consolidation is exhausting, and the temptation to chase a short can easily get you wicked out by needle-pricks. So I didn’t jump in immediately. I waited for the rebound to fail again, confirmed that the selling pressure hadn’t disappeared, and only then followed through.
Later, the price kept getting pushed down to 0.13875. The shorts’ rhythm finally paid off, and the result was recorded as +1022.71%. There were also higher-pullback swings in the middle; the hardest part was those few fake moves. But as long as my original judgment wasn’t invalidated, I couldn’t be shaken out by a single needle.
Once you’ve been in the crypto market long enough, you learn that the most comfortable sell-offs are often not the ones that suddenly get dumped. Instead, they first make people repeatedly doubt, and then slowly grind down the longs’ patience. This trade made me trust my own judgment even more: don’t chase the missed entries—wait for the next one with a clearer setup and rhythm.
