STABLECOIN VOLUME HIT A RECORD. THE TOTAL PILE GOT SMALLER. 🚨📊👀

In June 2026, two big numbers moved in opposite directions.
🔶 Stablecoin market cap (total digital dollars in existence) fell about $7.7B in one month. That is the largest monthly dollar drop since the Terra Luna crash in May 2022.
🔷 Same month, adjusted stablecoin transaction volume (money that actually moved after bots and empty shuffle trades are stripped out) hit about $1.79T. New all-time high. Up about 63% from May. Up about 125% from June 2025. Per Visa’s public board, also covered in @Forbes.
For years, people treated a bigger pile as “more adoption.” That worked when most coins sat still between trades.
In 2026 the split is clear: the pile cooled, while the flow got hotter. 🔥📉
Forbes notes research that stablecoin turnover rose toward about 6 times a month, roughly double the pace from two years earlier. A dollar that spins more often can do more work without a bigger pile.
USDT is still the giant savings-style pile, especially offshore and retail-heavy books.
USDC is winning a lot of adjusted settlement flow. In June, Visa-style adjusted prints put USDC around $1.21T vs about $576B for USDT.
