Should I say “no,” and my dog stops on full speed, whatever he’s doing 🐾🛑

A satellite can run after a ball, pull the leash toward another dog, or be right in the middle of some thrilling moment, but when I say the command “no,” he stops literally half a step in. Not in a minute, not after persuading him, but immediately—regardless of what he was occupied with a second ago. This detail always impresses me: the right to interrupt an action doesn’t require explanations, doesn’t require the other party’s consent—it simply exists and triggers instantly.
This same property, as I see it, best describes another important part of the architecture of Trustless Bitcoin Vaults: the owner’s right to revoke delegated permissions at any moment, even if the asset at that instant is actively participating in some strategy. In classic DeFi, this capability is often constrained by the protocol’s conditions: to withdraw collateral, you need to wait for the cycle to end, meet lockup timelines, and sometimes literally persuade a smart contract to return what it was once given. In such a model, the leash “physically” shifts to the protocol’s side, and the owner’s “no” command stops being instantaneous.
In TBV, an asset can actively “chase a ball” across different DeFi strategies—earn yield, participate in lending—but the right to an immediate recall remains baked into the protocol’s logic at the level of Bitcoin script, not dependent on the counterparty’s goodwill. This isn’t about constant control for the sake of control; it’s about how the owner’s stop command works just as unconditionally as the dog’s “no” command during a game, regardless of what happened a second ago.
I think that very immediacy is the main difference between true decentralization and beautifully packaged centralization. The asset can be as active as anywhere, but the owner’s command to stop must trigger right away, not according to the protocol’s schedule 🔐🐕
