CoinDesk-style news: According to AiCoin monitoring, US margin and securities lending debt has risen to $1.53 trillion. Investors are chasing the stock market highs with high leverage. As of June, US brokerage accounts’ net credit balance fell by about $70 billion month-on-month, dropping to negative $1.061 trillion, a record historical low. In the same period, margin and securities lending debt increased by about $86 billion, rising for the third consecutive month and setting a new record. phyrex noted that the net credit balance continues to deteriorate, investors’ cash buffers are shrinking, and stock positions are becoming increasingly dependent on borrowing. With US stocks currently facing high valuations and a high-leverage environment, if new funding slows down, leveraged positions will amplify market volatility.
