If you go by the idea of “equal people,” then the basic health insurance rights of 30 baht—that’s what’s known as the most “equal” people in Thailand: no matter whether you’re well-off or struggling, everyone is born with the same coverage, without having to prove how poor you are. Even if you’re extremely wealthy, if you somehow hit a rough patch one day, there’s still something to fall back on—namely, this basic health insurance right.
