🔥Crackling breaking news! BlackRock pours $12.55 billion into Meta data centers, snatching up a 7.5% ultra-high yield craze
First, let me ask everyone one question: if U.S. Treasury yields are just above 2%, and you’re offered a big-firm “stable” corporate bond with a 7.534% annualized yield, would you go for it?
Wall Street has just thrown out a major headline: asset-management giant BlackRock issued $12.55 billion of investment-grade bonds specifically for Meta’s AI data center in Texas. The final pricing yield was set right at 7.534%, nearly 290 basis points higher than the 10-year U.S. Treasuries—so the yield level is already almost chasing junk bonds!
Don’t be fooled by the huge yield—market demand was through the roof. During the bookbuilding phase, $20 billion rushed in to bid for the quota. Even though the subscription multiple was below the industry average, it still successfully sold out in full. In the secondary market, it surged right at the open, and the premium kept tightening.
Here I’ll lay out the underlying logic clearly:
1. This money is entirely used to fund AI compute infrastructure. Meta is expanding a massive-scale data center, tying itself to long-term AI upside. With big-league revenue backing at the base level, it’s a low-risk, high-yield target;
2. Recently, AI tech bond issuance has been collectively cooling off—new bonds from companies like SpaceX listed and then fell. Only this Meta deal went against the trend, showing that institutions have long-term confidence in the compute power sector;
3. The market has already repriced AI infrastructure risk. To attract institutions, you must offer a high premium far exceeding Treasuries. In the future, the yield threshold for compute-related assets will only keep rising.
On one side, global institutions are疯狂抢 (frenziedly抢) for compute-power bonds; on the other, AI assets in the secondary market keep shaking. So is this capital signal a long-term positive, or just short-term risk-avoidance speculation?
If you find this useful, hit like + share, and I’ll help you understand the real flow of Wall Street capital!
Drop a comment below—do you think AI compute bonds will become the standard allocation for institutions next?
