Nvidia dipped a bit, and Apple went up—there’s nothing to be overly alarmed about.

Congratulations to Apple, but NVIDIA isn’t doing badly either—there isn’t much difference between the two.

Apple is back in first place—expected, though. The ecosystem is just too powerful.

Apple has been rock solid this round—service revenue is propping up half the picture; AI hasn’t even kicked in yet. Nvidia’s gains have been driven sharply by hardware, but momentum looks weak going forward.

From iPhones to Vision Pro, Apple’s product lineup and its closed-loop ecosystem make it difficult for users to escape. Add in the extremely high gross margins in its services business, and that’s where the long-term value lies. Nvidia relies on its data center business, and once the AI hype cools off, the risks are even greater. So Apple is worth more.

It’s just a market cap game—changes every day, and tomorrow it might be switched back again. But Apple’s ecosystem is truly unbeatable.

Actually, Apple’s moat is far deeper than Nvidia’s—user stickiness is higher, it has ample cash reserves, and its buyback strength is strong, so the stock price naturally holds up better. While Nvidia has strong demand for AI chips, competition is fierce and its valuation is expensive. Apple’s outperformance this time is quite reasonable.
