Cointelegraph news: In an interview with Finland’s national broadcaster, Timo Worrie, Director of International Trade and Trade Policy at the Federation of Finnish Industries, said the United States has not yet fully fulfilled its obligations under the International Labour Organization framework, yet imposes tariffs on other economies in the name of “forced labor,” highlighting U.S. double standards. He noted that the Trump administration’s tariff policy poses severe challenges for Finnish industries such as steel and pharmaceuticals, harms global trade relations, and increases uncertainty in the global economy and business operations. Worrie also expressed concern that the Trump administration uses tariffs in disputes beyond trade and economic policy, saying the “weaponization” of tariffs brings enormous uncertainty to the global economy and security.
