This short position was not easy at the beginning. The price kept tugging around the 29,885.23 area; several times it dipped, only to be pulled back. The chart looked like someone was forcefully holding it up. Back then, I didn’t rush to celebrate. Instead, I kept worrying that a sudden pump could happen. After all, this kind of range-bound, grinding market at high levels is the easiest to shake people’s mindset.
What truly made me keep holding was that the rebound kept losing steam—after pushing up, it would immediately fall back, and the subsequent support became weaker wave by wave. By the time the selling pressure was fully suppressed, the price moved from 29,885.23 to 28,065.57, and the earlier false moves were finally exposed. In the middle, there were also wicks and moments that made me want to get out, but the short thesis wasn’t broken.
In the end, this trade returned +566.31%. I’m even more convinced in this direction. Not because it dropped that I went short, but because the problem at high levels had always been there—only that it was temporarily masked by a brief rally. The biggest fear in trading is emotions taking over the direction. When the chart itself reveals its flaws, it’s actually easier to hit the timing.
