The trade that left the deepest impression on me wasn’t how fast things played out, but the standoff in the high range that kept failing to break through. The price kept probing around 2111.63; the action above looked lively, but the bids getting absorbed were thinning out more and more. That’s why I shifted my focus to the short side.
In the middle, the market poked upward several times, nearly shaking people out. It’s not true that I wasn’t nervous. But each time it spiked higher, it quickly fell back; the push didn’t continue. Instead, it left behind even clearer sell pressure, and I knew it was more like draining chase orders than launching a genuinely strong move.
When the price finally reached 1932.89, the shorts broke through this grinding setup. The result logged +1471.05%. In that moment, the thing I was most thankful for was that I didn’t jump off just because of a brief rebound, and I didn’t change my direction on the fly just because I’d waited too long.
After this drop, I became even more convinced that patience itself is part of trading. Not every bearish view has to be realized immediately. But as long as the original logic of the pressure hasn’t changed, there’s no need to be led around by a couple of quick pokes.
