Friends who are stuck in losing positions, calm down first.
Being underwater isn’t scary by itself; what’s scary is that after your mindset breaks down, you blindly take action, forcing a small loss into a deep loss.
Many people fall into the trap: stubbornly holding on waiting to get back to break even, or rushing to add positions to dilute cost—ending up deeper and deeper.
With the current market whipsawing up and down and longs/shorts switching frequently, there is no trend that only goes up or only goes down.
Remember the core idea: first assess position risk—reduce large positions first to lower pressure; don’t frequently open new orders, so as to avoid unresolved old losses turning into additional losses.
Getting out of the trap should never be about quick success. Use range volatility to adjust positions in batches, progressing step by step to revive capital tied up in the position.
Trading is a long race; one period’s profit or loss can’t represent everything.
If you’re at a loss about your orders and don’t know how to set exit points, you can find me to review your positions and plan a response strategy. $XAU
