Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 27, according to The Wall Street Journal, Nvidia has invested in Safe Superintelligence (SSI), an artificial intelligence lab founded by Ilya Sutskever, the former chief scientist of OpenAI, and has reached a long-term cooperation with it. Under the agreement, SSI will receive a large amount of Nvidia’s flagship GPU resources, and its computing power is expected to increase by an order of magnitude. The specific investment amount has not been disclosed yet.

Before this collaboration, SSI mainly relied on Google’s TPU for R&D. The market believes this move reflects Nvidia expanding its chip ecosystem and locking in future compute demand by investing in leading AI laboratories.

SSI was founded in 2024 and focuses on research into “safe superintelligence.” It has previously raised about $2 billion in total funding and has a valuation of about $30 billion.
