Deep Tide TechFlow news, July 27: Circle announced the acquisition of IBM’s blockchain patent portfolio. The related assets cover more than 680 patent families and nearly 1,000 issued patents, spanning blockchain foundational technologies, banking, financial services, insurance, enterprise infrastructure, supply chain verification, and secure cloud operations.
Following this acquisition, Circle said it has become a leading holder of U.S. blockchain patents and will further support the development of USDC, the Circle Payments Network, Arc, and other on-chain financial products and infrastructure. Both sides also said they will explore additional business collaboration opportunities in the future.
