Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 27, according to Caixin Global, South Korea’s Customs Service said on Monday that in the first half of the year it seized illegal foreign exchange transactions worth 7.2 trillion won (about $4.92 billion). The South Korea Customs Service said it uncovered 792 cases of illegal foreign exchange transactions from January to June this year, involving illegal conduct such as illegally transferring foreign exchange abroad and concealing overseas assets. Some cases involved export companies collecting export proceeds in cryptocurrency rather than legal tender such as USD, so the exported foreign exchange proceeds were not repatriated to South Korea.
