ATOM is now around 1.38u. Today it has hardly moved; the 24-hour high and low are basically stuck between 1.38 and 1.4—so tight it’s ridiculous. Trading volume is also very dull.
This kind of extreme low-volume sideways consolidation is completely different from the previous stretch of steady downward drift. It’s more like the selling momentum has already been used up; both buyers and sellers can’t be bothered to act, and the market has entered a freeze-point state.
Looking over the past month, it’s still been falling—down more than ten percent. It’s down about 5% over the week as well. The earlier leg of the drop was a real one; it didn’t fail to flush. It’s just that at this point in the decline, most people willing to cut losses have already cut, and the rest are basically holding on to their positions. Naturally, volume can’t pick up.
In stages like this of low-volume basing, it’s often a buildup period before a breakout—though the direction is anyone’s guess. After grinding enough, it could rebound; or after the low-volume move, another wave of accelerated selloff could come, flushing out the last batch of stubborn long positions.
From the historical high of 44, it’s down 96%. Valuation is already very cheap; from a long-term perspective, this level isn’t expensive. In the short term, you still need to wait for a true breakout with real volume through this narrow range before judging direction. Jumping in now has mediocre risk-reward; better to wait for clearer signals. #atom $ATOM
