Human happiness should be built on respect for others. Treat yourself as a person, and treat others as people too. This is far more powerful than feeling sorry for a roadside stall and thinking running a stall is hard. Those vendors who have no business license, no health certificates, whose buying and selling is all done via transfers, and who never pay taxes—seemingly they’re easier to win public sympathy. In fact, their stalls and sanitation are all built on public resources.
