Abstract generation in progress
Coin World News: Meta is preparing to release a new generation of AI models led by Alexandr Wang, and plans to provide open-source versions for some of the models. Wang joined Meta last year via a $15 billion deal with AI data infrastructure company Scale AI, after previously serving as Scale AI CEO. Wang believes Meta can play a unique role in popularizing the latest AI technology and ensure developers have a US-made open-source option available. In addition, Meta confirmed it will roll out its own Harness tool and continue to release open-source models. Harness is an agent-running framework packaged outside the model that is responsible for calling tools, reading and writing files, and managing context, enabling the model to complete complex tasks continuously. Meta had already planned in April this year to open-source some of the new models.
