Japanese and South Korean chip stocks rise; global semiconductor demand continues to rebound
Japan and South Korea’s semiconductor sectors all moved up together, again indicating that global capital is starting to reallocate into technology growth assets. SK hynix, the Micron industry chain, and Japanese semiconductor equipment companies all strengthened in sync, showing that the market remains optimistic about AI infrastructure buildout. After the previous stage of pullbacks, chip-sector valuations are gradually returning to more reasonable ranges, which has also attracted more long-term capital to move in.
What the AI era drives is not only GPU demand growth, but more importantly, upgrades across the entire industry chain. Behind every high-performance AI chip are the support of high-speed storage, advanced packaging, and high-end materials. In particular, HBM has become a core component of AI servers, and its supply-demand relationship remains relatively tight—this is also a key reason the market continues to look favorably on SK hynix.
In the future, as more companies deploy AI applications, data center investment is expected to remain at a high level, and storage vendors’ profitability is likely to keep improving. Although the industry will still be affected by cyclical fluctuations, the incremental demand brought by AI has already changed the traditional storage industry’s development model. The recent rally in Japanese and South Korean chip stocks is more like the market re-confirming the long-term growth value of the AI industry.
