According to Chinese customs data, in June 2026 the nickel ore import volume was 5.86M tonnes, down 0.0977 million tonnes month-on-month, a decrease of 1.64%. Year-on-year, imports increased by 1.5143 million tonnes, up 34.84%. Of these, laterite nickel ore accounted for 5.8053 million tonnes and nickel sulfide ore for 0.0556 million tonnes. Laterite nickel ore imported from the Philippines was 5.4472 million tonnes, accounting for 92.94% of this month’s total imports. From January to June 2026, total nickel ore imports were 19.7241 million tonnes, up 33.44% year-on-year.
