Shanghai Metals Market: Zinc prices fluctuate within a range; spot quotes edge higher

Today, Shanghai Metals Market spot prices are 0#锌24260-24360元/吨，均价24310元/吨，较上一交易日下跌100元/吨，对沪锌2608合约报贴水50-升水50元/吨；1#24190-24290 yuan/ton, with an average of 24240 yuan/ton, down 100 yuan/ton from the previous trading day. For the SHFE ZINC 2608 contract, it is quoted at a discount of 120 to a discount of 20 yuan/ton. Zinc prices stay range-bound, with an overall somewhat strong performance. As of the morning close, the SHFE zinc benchmark contract rose 65 yuan/ton, up 0.27%. Today’s spot market is steady: zinc prices fluctuate within a range, downstream buyers purchase as needed on low demand, and traders holding inventory remain supportive of prices. During the session, quotes were around +55 versus the average. Domestic refined zinc ingots for the 08 contract moved from discount to around flat to slightly at a premium. (SHMET)
