Galaxy Futures: Asphalt cost support weakens, demand remains flat

From Friday to the weekend, the US maintains a ceasefire; oil prices fall. Focus on near-term refinery feedstock imports resuming production, demand picking up, and the pace of inventory drawdowns. Supply rises month-over-month, demand remains lackluster, and inventories stay at low year-over-year levels. Near-term supply increased slightly month-over-month but remains below the same period’s levels. There are signs that August asphalt production scheduling will continue to rise. In the Yangtze River Delta and South China regions, some leading refineries’ capacity begins to recover. Ongoing rainy weather in southern areas keeps demand limited.
