“Gravity No. 1” launch vehicle is expected to launch at sea on July 22

A reporter learned that it is expected that on July 22, the “Yinli No. 1” Yue-4 carrier rocket, rolled out from the final assembly at the Haiyang Eastern Spaceport, will embark on the launch vessel “Eastern Spaceport” to conduct an offshore satellite launch mission in the eastern waters of Shanghai. “Yinli No. 1” is the first launch vehicle developed by Dongfang Space. Its payload capacity to low Earth orbit is 6.5 tons, and its payload capacity to a 500 km sun-synchronous orbit is 4.2 tons. After its maiden flight in January 2024, it immediately set multiple records, including “the world’s largest solid launch vehicle” and “China’s largest in terms of commercial and civil payload capacity,” and was the first to meet the needs for large-scale constellation network launches for low-orbit satellites.
